Cement Types Type I-II - Sulfate-Resistant Lehigh Southwest manufactures cement that meets the standards for both Type I and Type II low alkali. This cement has improved resistance to attack by sulfates and lower heat of hydration. Type I-II Lehigh Southwest Projects. Type III - High Early Strength This cement is used in applications where rapid hardening or high early strength is required. Type III Lehigh Southwest Projects. Type V - High Sulfate-Resistant This cement is used in applications where concrete is exposed to high amounts of sulfate in the soil or ground water.
